Coordinating Surgery

We met with the Neurosurgeon today to discuss the results from the MEG and a surgery plan. The MEG did not show a definite area for him to place the strips of electrodes on Anna's brain, so he recommended that he do 2 or 3 "burr" holes. There will be one on the right, one on the left, and one in back. He will slip 4 or 5 strips in each hole. The strips will remain on her brain for several days to capture 1 or 2 seizures. She will be fully awake, however she will be somewhat confined to her bed. Depending on the results from this test, they will then move on to surgery. He explained the different surgical options, however it is too much for me to go into right now. There are several doctors involved, so scheduling this may be a challenge, not to mention a Thanksgiving is coming. I did not get an exact date today, but they told us that this will happen within the next 3 weeks and I should have a firm date next week.
