Surgery Date Delay

The surgery may still be the week after Thanksgiving, however we won't know for sure until next week. The group of doctors that are reviewing and planning Anna's surgery are meeting on Monday, Nov.12. We should know the date after their meeting. The is one of the first surgeries of this type for Austin, however the 2 main doctors that will actually perform the surgery have done this at other hospitals. Austin opened a new children's hospital in August that recruited top doctors from all over the country. I am told that we are so lucky, because one of the top pediatric neurosurgeons joined the hospital almost 2 years ago due to the new hospital opening this year. I have met several of his patients and they all have raved at his surgical skills and I have been assured by many doctors and nurses that we are in the best hands. Our neurologist who has know Anna since she was an infant is overseeing the entire case and we are very comfortable that he is steering us in the right direction. The group is being very careful and not rushing the process of getting everything together. However, those of you who know me well, know that this is slow process is working on my last nerve:).
