Anna had an external shunt (drain) placement this morning and they removed the other shunt that was placed on Friday. The surgeon believes that there is too much debre to put in another shunt at this time that would just clog again. The debre are small pieces of tissue and blood particles from the surgery on 9/9. With this temporary external shunt, it will give Anna the relief from the swelling and pressure and give the "debre" time to settle. Once the fluid is more clear and thinner, he will go back and put in a new shunt. He expects that we will be in the hospital for another 4-7 days. Mimi and Jack Daddy are staying with us to continue taking care of the household and our precious Camille.
Please pray that Anna remains comfortable with all the tubes and wires, that the fluid clears quickly for the new shunt, and that we can keep up the pace of going back and forth, up and down, while Louis continues to try his best to work.
Love,
Rebecca
