Update

Well, as usual God has given us strength and our little Anna has been such a trooper. The wires are starting to itch and she is pulling at them from time to time, but overall she is staying happy. She has had several “events” that appear to have been small drop seizures that last about 10 minutes. She will drop her head for just a second and then came right back up happy and then drop again. We have been seeing these at home since Dec. 08. They have reviewed the EEG tapes and watched the video and once again doctors are perplexed. They are NOT able to identify these as seizures and are not sure why and what is causing these “events”. Clearly when you watch her, something is happening, but it does not show on the EEG. What they do see on the EEG, is a “tick” occurring on the left side of the brain (same side as the surgery in 07, but not the portion that was disconnected). The “tick” looks like something that would turn into a seizure, but hasn’t yet. Doctors stated that this is all early information and they are still waiting for a big seizure to give them more info. Anna’s meds were further reduced this evening in hopes that she will begin having her “normal” bigger seizures.

Please pray that doctors are able to receive the information needed to make recommendations for seizure control. Doctors are seeing things differently then they expected. This isn’t bad news or good news, it is just news for now. Makes me a little nervous…I think.

Thanks and Love,
Rebecca
