Thank you Jesus for a smooth surgery and for all my precious friends that have been praying for Anna and our family. Anna's surgery started at 7:45 this morning and ended around 11:00. The surgeon said it went beautifully. Anna will spend today and tomorrow in PICU and then if all goes well, we will take one step down to the IMC. We expect to be here through Sunday or Monday. Anna is in and out of sleep and not feeling too good right now. They said that she will be dazed and stunned over the next 2-3 day and back to her normal baseline by the weekend. It is very hard for us to see her like this. She has several milestones to hit over the next 24-48 hours, so let that be our prayer now.
Louis and I have been through 9 surgeries with Anna. None of them have been easy, however we do have a little system that helps us. Louis spends each night and I come in the mornings after Camille goes to school. He then works through the day and spends time with Camille after school and then relieves me in the evenings. Mimi and Jack Daddy are here to fill in all of the household stuff and help us get some rest when one of us is home.
